As a result of a recent strategic review of its entire business in Australia, Monsanto has decided to immediately exit its local Deltapine cottonseed business. Monsanto will continue to support growers who have purchased Deltapine varieties for the 2009-2010 season but will no longer be taking orders for seed.
The company will, however, continue with a more focused cotton breeding operation in Australia as part of its global cotton program.
